My first hammock was made from a single layer of blue 100% polyester material. Suspension lines are hollow-braid polypropylene rope, made into “whoopie slings” which allow for easy adjustment. This simple, lightweight hammock is great for day trips or lunch break hangs, and is small enough to take anywhere.
My second hammock is designed for more serious camping. It’s a double-layer made with a camo exterior and a silver lining. Strong, lightweight, and VERY comfortable! Together with homemade accessories like a down-filled top quilt, an Insultex under quilt, bug screen, winter sock, and two tarps, this is a true four-season setup. So far the coldest I’ve gone with it was a 22 degree night, hanging beside a stream in PA.
